You wouldn’t expect it from a string quartet, but Zapp4 plays Nirvana is solid as a rock and groovy as hell. When ultimate grunge band Nirvana released its second album Nevermind in 1991, the members of Zapp4 wore the record out completely. Hits like Smells like teen spirit, Come as you are and Lithium became part of their DNA. In Zapp4 plays Nirvana the quartet performs adaptations of these songs and more obscure Nirvana material. Their sound is distorted, yet finds its balance and harmony in well-attuned group dynamics. The idiosyncratic Zapp4 is well-known across borders. The quartet is sure to stir your heart and leave you in ecstasy. Especially here, on the roof.

Line-up: Jasper le Clercq – violin; Jeffrey Bruinsma – violin; Oene van Geel – alto violin; Emile Visser – cello
